The Tread Lightly Caravan – New Zealand's mobile environmental education classroom.
The Tread Lightly Caravan (TLC) is now on the road visiting schools in Auckland for 2013! In our first 2 years of operation the caravan has visited over 70 schools and more than 12 000 school children have experienced the Tread Lightly programme! The TLC is a mobile environmental classroom, packed with lots of fun, interactive exhibits and experiences. All of the exhibits have the same key educational messages:
– our every day life style choices have environmental consequences which are not sustainable;
- small changes in the way we live will help save resources (water, materials, energy) and protect our precious plants and animals and their habitats;
- if we don't act, we will impact the quality of life for the next generation - our children and grand children may not experience the beauty of nature the way we do now.
The TLC is designed to bring science and nature into Auckland schools by providing a unique and powerful experience.
