resources for teachers
We have developed three full educational modules which are fully linked to the NZ curricula.
The modules are for:
- energy (stationary and transport);
- water;
- and conservation.
We can also provide a direct internet link to one of our computer games - Environmental Footprint - and hopefully soon to the other one - My Driving Day. This allows the teachers to trial the exhibit prior to the Tread Lightly Caravan visit and therefore tailor their educational preparation. Teachers can use this link as a followup to go over key learnings and educational messages after the TLC visit.
We also have specific educational handouts with each of our exhibits.
Once a school has booked the TLC, we arrange a meeting with the key teachers approximately one month before the TLC visit. The teachers then have the choice to:
- use our full educational modules;
- use our exhibit tailored educational material and internet links;
- complete their own preparation.
In most cases, the teachers use a combination of our resources and their own educational material.
